Lakelands Clinic

This week is a bit different. Rather than focusing on how physiotherapy can help you to live a pain free and fulfilling life, we’re focused on something we do as a team to care for each other, our patients and our community.

It’s really important to us that we are best able to help our patients and our community, and part of that is making sure that we’re all up to date on our first aid training.

Of course, part of our everyday procedures is to identify risks and then minimise those risks to help prevent accidents, whether that’s in and around our clinics or helping patients to minimise their risks of falls or injuries at home. But in addition to those everyday things, we update our training too.

Each year, we update our training to ensure everyone in the Miami and Lakelands Physio team is best prepared to assist persons who have become injured or fallen ill in a variety of emergency situations. All staff are trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and providing first aid, and our physiotherapists are also trained in Aquatic Rescue for Hydrotherapy.

We just completed our training courses on Saturday 13 November (this is why we closed for the morning too), it was a great opportunity for us to refresh our knowledge and come together as a team.

It’s not comfortable to think about accidents and emergencies, but making sure that we are up to date with our training and procedures is one of the ways that we show we care.
