Mona Patel
Senior Physiotherapist
Mona completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy in India in 2015 before furthering her studies in Sport and Exercise Science and Psychology in New Zealand. Her experience spans private practice, aged care, return-to-work rehabilitation, mental health physiotherapy and tertiary education. Mona has a keen interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, particularly shoulder conditions, post-operative rehabilitation, and balance and falls prevention. With a strong background in anatomy and biomechanics, she enjoys understanding the factors contributing to a person’s symptoms and helping them return to meaningful movement and activity. Her treatment approach combines education, exercise rehabilitation and hands-on therapy, including manual therapy, dry needling and cupping where appropriate.
Mona values a whole-person and culturally inclusive approach to healthcare. Influenced by her years practising in New Zealand and the principles of Te Whare Tapa Whā, she considers physical health alongside the wider factors that influence wellbeing and welcomes family or whānau involvement when preferred. She also has a keen interest in pregnancy and postnatal exercise and is currently undertaking further study in this area. Mona enjoys supporting people living with conditions such as diabetes and PCOS to become stronger, more active and confident with exercise, while working alongside their broader healthcare team where appropriate. Having previously taught anatomy, movement science and clinical practice, Mona enjoys making complex information simple and helping people understand the “why” behind their rehabilitation.
Mona is fluent in English, Hindi and Gujarati. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring WA, travelling, cooking and keeping active.
